It has been a long held belief of mine that the fastest way to find anything that you lose is to buy it again. Time and time again headphones, watches, wallets and so on have gone missing. Weeks have been spent turning the house upside down but to no avail and the very day a replacement arrives the old one turns up.
I might be an atheist but it is hard not to think something is out there playing with me!
Now, Apple, in all its sleek, innovative glory, seems to have decided that the 27-inch iMac will remain a legend of the past. Enthusiasts, who once dreamt of a new M series, all-in-one device with the promised 27 or 30 inch screen, are now, after the recent announcement of the latest hardware, left with a choice: adapt or move on.
Enter the new Mac Mini.
You see the new Mac Mini is about the only real standout from recent hardware announcements that really boiled down to new colours and faster chips. Big deal. And yes, while the new Mac Mini is really just a smaller version of something they released years ago they have packed a metric ton of performance into this little beast.
I have often said that the Mac Mini had become the begrudging alternative to the elusive M series 27-inch iMac but with the new levels of power I think that this really is all we can hope for.
But the hard part is not buying the Mac Mini, but rather pairing this little beast with a quality monitor, so you can recreate that large-screen experience the mythical 27 inch promised.
But which monitors should you consider to complement this little pocket rocket?
Well some stand outs would include the following 4 power houses, but the best thing is if you already have a 27 inch monitor in the house you can use that. In fact, any monitor you like the look of and is the right price will connect to the Mac Mini.
LG UltraFine 5K Display: This monitor offers stunning 5K resolution, perfect for those who need impeccable detail and colour accuracy. It’s like having the old iMac screen but better.
Dell UltraSharp U2720Q: Known for its excellent colour accuracy and sharpness, this 27-inch 4K monitor is a favourite among professionals. Plus, it features USB-C connectivity for easy integration with your Mac Mini.
Samsung Odyssey G7: If you’re into gaming, this curved 27-inch monitor with a 240Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time will make your gaming experience surreal. Because why not game in style?
BenQ PD2700U: This 4K monitor is great for designers and content creators, offering excellent colour reproduction and a host of features tailored for creative work.
While Apple might be holding out on the next big iMac, pairing a Mac Mini with any of these stellar monitors ensures you’re not missing out. So, let’s embrace the flexibility and power of the Mac Mini combo—it’s the future we didn’t see coming but might end up loving.
Wouldn’t you say that’s a pretty decent trade-off?
Now, that I am off to buy a new Mac Mini and a decent monitor … we know the new M series 27 inch iMac is just around the corner. Well, probably not… but with my luck, you never know.
